Pippi’s Christmas Guests by Astrid Lindgren and Ingrid Vang Nyman

Nobody does Christmas quite like Pippi Longstocking. Last year the pigtailed pirate’s daughter put on an after christmas party that culminated in the guests climbing the tree to recover their presents.

In Pippi’s Christmas Guests, taken from the second volume of comics by Astrid Lindgren and Ingrid Vang Nyman, our hero faces spending December 25th alone as Tommi and Annika leave for Grandma’s house. Not that she’s worried – Pippi always has big plans.

But she’s not alone for long, first a dog, then a cat and even a bird called little Pippi all take shelter in Villekulla cottage for a fine spread of Christmas buns followed by gingersnaps and apples from the tree.

And of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from Father Christmas.
